DramaFever’s Yale Wang has been named vice president, head of North American marketing for fuboTV. Wang reports to Alberto Horihuela, fuboTV’s chief marketing officer and co-founder and for whom Wang previously worked at DramaFever.
In his new role, Wang will oversee the company’s expanding marketing efforts in North America, focusing on leveraging his expertise in data-driven digital marketing to drive subscription growth for the service.
“Yale is one of the most creative, driven and effective executives that I have had the pleasure of working with, and the ideal choice to lead our North American marketing efforts as fuboTV continues to expand,” said Horihuela in a statement. “With the recent kickoff of the new NFL season, along with the upcoming launches of the NHL and NBA in October, and key TV premieres this fall, Yale is joining us at a very important moment, as fuboTV truly redefines the way consumers can watch their favorite live sports and entertainment programming.”
Wang joins fuboTV from Warner Bros. Digital Networks, where he was VP and head of marketing for DramaFever – a subscription over-the-top network dedicated to bringing international TV shows, movies and concerts to fans in the Americas. There, he was previously colleagues with fuboTV co-founders Horihuela, David Gandler and Sung Ho Choi. Warner Bros. Digital Networks acquired DramaFever in 2016.
Initially launched as a streaming service dedicated to soccer, fuboTV is a sports-first live-streaming TV service that offers more than 65 channels in its entry level Fubo Premiere bundle. Besides sports, fuboTV also offers entertainment news and information with more than 10,000 titles available on demand.
Investors in fuboTV include 21st Century Fox, Sky, Scripps Networks Interactive, DCM Ventures, i2bf, Luminari Capital, LionTree Partners, Univision Communications Inc., Edgar Bronfman, Jr. (former Chairman and CEO of Warner Music Group), Chris Silbermann (founding partner, ICM Partners) and former NBA Commissioner David Stern.
