The short, sweet month of February is highlighted by several big events.

Black History runs all month and fittingly, Nat Geo will kick off the month with the latest iteration of its anthology series, Genius, focusing on civil-rights activists Martin Luther King, Jr., and Malcolm X.

Mid-month comes Valentine’s Day, giving Hallmark Channel and its ilk a chance to kick into holiday-festooned romance now that the high of the holidays has finally ebbed.

There are two big broadcast events this month: the 66th annual Grammy Awards on CBS on Sunday, February 4, and the granddaddy of them all: Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11.

After two exciting AFC and NFC Championship games, the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift will face off against the San Francisco 49ers, led by quarterback Brock “Mr. Irrelevant” Purdy. These two teams met in the big game just four years ago, right before everything shut down due to the pandemic. Today, San Francisco is a largely different team led by a different quarterback, while Kansas City quarterback Mahomes and his squad are headed to their fourth Super Bowl in five years and looking to nail down back-to-back championships to make it three for the Mahomes-led Chiefs.

Both events will put surging Las Vegas in the spotlight, with U2 shooting a segment for the Grammys from its temporary home at the Sphere, while the Super Bowl will be played at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.

Leaving Las Vegas, February also offers Apple TV Plus’ The New Look (above images courtesy of Apple), a look back at Paris’ haute-fashion scene in the ‘50s, which stars Juliette Binoche, Glenn Close, Ben Mendelsohn, John Malkovitch and Maisie Williams; the 12th and (allegedly) final season of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm; Donald Glover’s return to television in Prime Video’s reboot of the movie that spawned Brangelina, Mr. and Mrs. Smith; and Apple TV Plus’ latest sci-fi offering, Constellation, starring Noomi Rapace and Jonathan Banks.
