In the middle of the Super Bowl, Paramount Plus will sweep viewers off to Paramount Mountain, where Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: Picard); Drew Barrymore (The Drew Barrymore Show); Reno 911!’s Lt. Jim Dangle (Thomas Lennon), always in shorts; Survivor’s Jeff Probst, Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and a variety of animated characters are stuck in an icy canyon.

Stewart puts his Shakespearean training to use while narrating as Tagovailoa tries to throw a rope with a barbed anchor up the cliff to help the group climb up, but he can’t quite make it. “If I had a football, I’d be able to reach the top,” he says.

“What about a football-shaped face?” Stewart says, pointing at Hey Arnold!’s Arnold. “We throw the child.”

“You can’t throw a child at a wall,” says Barrymore.

“Shut your face, Barrymore!” Stewart snaps.

“I’m not going to throw a kid,” Tagovailoa agrees.

But Stewart, used to making such hard calls as captain of the fictitious Enterprise, came ready in his vintage football uniform to save the day. As Creed randomly shows up and starts playing “Higher” (because there are power outlets on top of Paramount Mountain, apparently), Stewart hurls Arnold into the air. In one glorious moment, Arnold soars to the top of the cliff, Stewart and Barrymore sing along, Probst plays air guitar with his tiki lamp and Dangle flashes his Creed tramp stamp. Unfortunately, Arnold’s flight is short-lived.

The new spot, part of Paramount Plus’ ongoing “A Mountain of Entertainment” campaign, premieres during Super Bowl LVIII, which will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on CBS and streamed on Paramount Plus on Sunday, February 11. It’s Paramount Plus’ third Super Bowl spot.
