Netflix’s first extended trailer for season two of Bloodline makes it clear that Danny may be dead, but his memory is still a very real haunting consequence for the Rayburns.

Local cop John (Kyle Chandler) has visions and hears the voice of Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) repeatedly asking “When’s it gonna end?” — a question John kept repeating in season one as the two brothers fought a deadly battle.

The trailer reveals that for the Rayburns, Danny’s words of “You’re damned if you do, you’re damned if you don’t,” have a more literal meaning as the family struggles to conceal their horrible crime, and begin to unravel in the midst of mounting lies, betrayal and paranoia.

Surprises about Danny’s past also emerge as the Rayburns are confronted by his suspected son Nolan (Owen Teague), and John Leguizamo and Andrea Riseborough also join the cast.

The family’s mother, played by Sissy Spacek, is also growing suspicious of her kids.

“I don’t think my children are giving me the whole story,” she says.

In season one, both Chandler and Mendelsohn received Emmy nominations for lead actor and supporting actor in a drama series.

Bloodline is created by Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman.

The 10-episode season two premieres May 27 on Netflix.
