Betrayal, corruption and the politics of power get even more intense in season two of Deep State as Walton Goggins (Justified, Vice Principals, The Hateful Eight) joins the cast as Nathan Miller, an ex-CIA operative brought in as a fixer.

In the next chapter, having failed in the Middle East, political powers are now turning their attention to sub-Saharan Africa and the scramble to plunder its natural resources, sparking a dirty war over clean energy. It will also explore the origin stories of characters from season one, as well as the fall of a hero and the making of a terrorist in the eyes of the West.

Returning cast members include Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones, Skins), Karima McAdams (Fearless, Vikings), Alistair Petrie (Sex Education, The Night Manager) and Anastasia Griffith (Damages, Once Upon a Time).

In addition to Goggins, new cast members include Victoria Hamilton (The Crown, Doctor Foster), Alexander Siddig (The Spy, Gotham) Lily Banda (The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind) and Zainab Jah (Elementary, Homeland).

Matthew Parkhill (Rogue) serves as executive producer, co-creator, writer, director and showrunner with executive producers Hilary Bevan Jones and Simon Maxwell, who is also a co-creator and writer. Director Joss Agnew (Poldark, Mr Selfridge) and producer Paul Frift (Victoria, Room at the Top), have also joined the team for the season two. The series is produced by Endor Productions.

Deep State was the first original drama for Fox Networks Group Europe & Africa. It will premiere April 28 on Epix in the U.S. and will air on Fox in the U.K. and in 50 countries across Europe and Africa in early May.
