Paying subscribers can now find MTV shows available on the iPhone and iPad for free.
After going TV Everywhere with Nickelodeon, it’s now MTV’s turn, as Viacom launches free second screen options for MTV shows like “Teen Wolf” and “Awkward.” The app has second screen features to act as companion apps to on-air content, but also stand-alone social media options and streaming.
Score one more point for Viacom’s TV Everywhere.

Brief Take: This is another very small step from promise to reality in the evolution of “TV Everywhere.” MTV/Viacom says that about 50 million pay TV customers will have access to the programming on its apps. But subscribers to at least three different major pay services—Comcast, Dish and Charter—won’t be able to watch the shows (for now).
