Four years ago, Time Warner Cable joined with other cable operators in the TV Everywhere promise - that eventually, TV customers could watch what they wanted, anytime they wanted anywhere they wanted.
Now, taking one step further toward that goal, Time Warner has begun to add local TV station signals to its live streaming offerings. So far the TWC TV app has signals from ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox affiliates in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas, rounding out its total live TV channel count to about 100.
The app rolled out live signals from stations in New York and Kansas City earlier this year.
The TWC TV app is accessible via smartphones, tablets, Roku, Samsung smart TVs and Xbox 360.

Brief Take: Time Warner’s local live streaming is a good sign for things to come, as mobile continues to be a strength for local television stations moving forward.
