“Impractical Jokers” is about to return to truTV for its second season, and it’s choosing to celebrate its good luck with online fans.
“Draft a Joker” is an online game available via the “Impractical Jokers” Facebook page where fans can register to pick their favorite joker, draft him to their team and win big if he’s the week’s winner. From those who participate in each week’s game, ten random fans are chosen to receive “Impractical Jokers” merchandise. One participant will also get a visit to an “Impractical Jokers” shoot at the end of the sweepstakes during the season.
Brief Take: truTV‘s show, which follows four friends executing one another’s dares on hidden cameras, has found a way to engage fans online, but also to ensure that those fans follow along each week to coincide with the game. By making sure the fans want to watch in order to see how they did in the branded game, the show is more likely to retain loyal viewers.
