Fox has named Tommy Gargotta executive vice president of creative marketing, it was announced Wednesday by Angela Courtin, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Fox Broadcasting Company.
Gargotta will oversee FOX’s on-air promotions and design departments, spanning across the network’s print, broadcast, outdoor and digital design strategy and innovation. He will begin on March 6th and report to Courtin.
“Tommy is one of the most creative marketers in the business,” said Courtin in a statement. “His extensive experience, passion for marketing and sharp creative eye make him the perfect person to develop strategic campaigns for our breakthrough shows and amplify all of the innovation happening right now throughout FOX.”
Most recently, Gargotta was president of theatrical marketing for Relativity Europacorp Distribution (RED), where he managed the marketing campaigns for EuropaCorp’s and Relativity Media’s U.S. releases such as Masterminds, Miss Sloane, The Circle and Valerian. Before working at RED, Gargotta was president of worldwide creative advertising for Sony Pictures where, for more than 10 years, and oversaw marketing campaigns for franchises such as James Bond – Skyfall, Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale; The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons; 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street; and The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2.
Before Sony, Gargotta was creative director for the Los Angeles-based Intralink Advertising. Prior to that, he was a senior producer/editor at the ad agency Trailer Park.
Gargotta is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences (AMPAS).
