A little over two years after its debut, Netflix’s The OA: Part II is transporting Praire—and viewers—to a new dimension.
The first trailer for the long-awaited second season shows the OA waking up as an alternative version herself—one who is wealthy, lives in San Francisco, and never experienced the trauma of being kidnapped or experimented on. She realizes she has “jumped” to a new dimension, one where it’s still 2016 and no one seems to have heard of Barack Obama.
Creators Brit Marling (who also stars in the series) and Zal Batmangli introduced the world to the sci-fi series in late 2016. The drama follows Praire—a young, blind woman who later labels herself the “OA”—seven years after vanishing from her home. Her return is paired with the return of her eyesight and newfound abilities.
The OA Part II is executive produced by Marling, Batmanglij, Michael Sugar, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Sarah Esberg. The Part II cast also brings back Jason Isaacs, Emory Cohen, Patrick Gibson, Sharon Van Etten, Will Brill, Brendan Meyer, Ian Alexander and Brandon Perea.
The mind-bending story resumes Friday, March 22 on Netflix.
