The CW revealed a jam-packed extended trailer for season five of The 100 that picks up six years after the season-four finale, and finds multiple factions on the brink of all-out war.

At stake is a single green valley—a patch of grass that the Death Wave passed over, and the “last survivable land on Earth” for which many groups of people are ready and willing to fight.

Season five will incorporate some flashbacks to get viewers up to speed on what’s happened over the past six years, and the trailer is rife with intel about who’s alive, which relationships are blooming or doomed, and the war that is brewing.

The apocalyptic drama picks up with Clarke (Eliza Taylor) raising Madi (Lola Flanery) in that aforementioned coveted green valley.

Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) is struggling to rule over the survivors in the bunker, and Bellamy (Bob Morley), Raven (Lindsey Morgan), Muphy (Richard Harmon), Monty (Christopher Larkin), Harper (Chelsey Reist) Emori (Luisa D’Oliveira) and Echo (Tasya Teles) are still hanging out on the ship in space, figuring out what to do, although it’s been safe for them to return to Earth for at least a year.

Meanwhile, the prison ship is full of people who are eager to take over the green valley. They and their leader Charmaine Diyoza (Ivana Milicevic) are ready to destroy anyone in their way.

But is fighting the answer?

“If a war is the only way to have the last survivable land on Earth, then maybe we don’t deserve it,” Monty says in the trailer.

Season five of The 100 returns April 24 on The CW.
