​It was only a week ago some were questioning the strength of Tim Tebow’s brand now that the NFL has largely passed on his meager quarterbacking skills. Today those naysayers must hang their heads in shame. According to Forbes, Tebowmania transcends such factors as actually playing for a NFL team, or actually being good at football: in the latest surveys by Nielsen and E-Poll Market, Tebow tops the list as America’s most influential athlete. In a testament to the power of a good personal brand, all four of the athletes topping the list have been mostly idle for the past year, including Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt and Derek Jeter.
