Steve-O and Chris Pontius of Jackass have teamed up once again for Headset Hotshots, a virtual reality short-form miniseries on YouTube featuring stunts along the same lines as the stunt show.

The four-episode series—with each episode running about four minutes—will also feature YouTuber Aaron Schoenke, of the channel batinthesun. He’s known for the series Super Power Beat Down, and the second half of the miniseries will be geared toward superhero content.

Headset Hotshots debuted August 14 on Steve-O’s YouTube Channel and episodes will premiere weekly through September 3.

The marketing strategy for the miniseries is built around Steve-O and Schoenke as the two hosts, and leverages their unique followings, such as Steve-O’s YouTube channel that has more than 4 million subscribers. Fans are asked to submit their own VR fails for future episodes via the Headset Hotshots website as part of an audience-driven engagement strategy.

Creator and Director Sam Macaroni and his team at mixed reality studio Thundership, used the Yi Halo VR camera that conveys and up close and personal feel. While the episodes are specifically designed to be viewed in a VR headset, hose without headsets can view the series in 360 on YouTube.
