In response to President Donald Trump’s tweet announcing “The Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards of the Year,” Stephen Colbert is campaigning with a billboard in Times Square showcasing a “For Your Consideration” ad.
“Because nothing gives you more credibility than Donald Trump calling you a liar,” he said on Wednesday’s Late Show. “And I, of course, don’t wanna get snubbed.”
I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o’clock. Subjects will cover Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media. Stay tuned!

In a “desperate bid to get Trump’s disapproval,” he hopes to receive nominations for “The Fakies …. as we call ‘em in the biz” in such categories as “Outstanding Achievement in Parroting George Soros’ Talking Points,” “The Eric Trump Memorial Award for Disappointment,” and “Smallest Button” — mocking Trump’s recent tweet proclaiming he has a larger nuclear button than North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Trump plans to announce the awards at “5:00 o’clock” on Monday, following the Golden Globes on Sunday night.
Colbert’s enthusiasm is mounting.
“See you on the red carpet, Anderson Cooper!” he tweeted.
