As the streaming wars continue to ramp up, premium cable network Starz has no interest in competing with broad-appeal streamers. Instead, it’ll continue to complement them, president and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch revealed at winter TCA on Tuesday.

“We’re not trying to be all things to all people like Netflix, Peacock and Hulu,” Hirsh said. “We fill a niche and are focused on being a complement, whether it is in addition to traditional TV packages or streaming choices.”

Starz will also continue to serve their primary audience of 18+ and African-American women. Hirsch stated that viewers love great women in history; therefore, they’ll for more shows like The Spanish Princess.

Also down the pipeline is the Power spinoff series starring Mary J Blige: Power Book II: Ghost. Starz announced on Tuesday that Method Man will star opposite of the Grammy award-winning recording artist. The Wu-Tang Clan founding member will portray an “ambitious and savvy attorney,” Davis Maclean, when the series launches later this year.

Ghost is one of three new Power series in consideration at Starz. Hirsch says “there will be prequels, sequels and spinoffs,” however, withhold further information to avoid spoiling the original Power’s ending.

The network also unveiled new looks at Outlander, which enters its fifth season on Feb. 16; Wrong Man, the true-crime docuseries entering its sophomore season; and Hightown, a new drama following a woman’s journey to sobriety. Check them all out here:
