Endemol Shine North America has named Sharon Levy as its new president of unscripted and scripted television.

“Sharon is one of our industry’s most well-respected executives and brings with her a tremendous amount of experience developing and producing hits across a wide array of genres,” Cris Abrego, chairman, Endemol Shine Americas and CEO, Endemol Shine North America, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to have her joining our team here at Endemol Shine and leading our programming efforts going forward.”

Endemol Shine North America is behind unscripted content such as CBS’ Big Brother, Fox’s MasterChef and MTV’s Fear Factor, and scripted series such as Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders and I’m Dying Up Here.

Levy most recently served as executive vice president of original series at Spike TV, where she has spent the last 12 years building the network’s brand.

During her time there, she oversaw the the acquisition, creation and production of all entertainment throughout the network’s evolution transforming Spike’s programming lineup with series such as Ink Master, Bar Rescue, Auction Hunters and Deadliest Warrior.

On the scripted front, she led series that include Tut, The Mist based on a novella by Stephen King, and the upcoming Waco from The Weinstein Company. She also established a push into documentaries at Spike.

“I’m truly excited to be returning to my producing roots and doing so with a company like Endemol Shine — with its global reach and roster of critically acclaimed series and production companies,” says Levy in a statement. “There’s a lot of momentum across the unscripted and scripted divisions and I can’t wait to get started with the incredible team.”

Prior to Spike, Levy served as senior vice president and executive producer at Stone Stanley Entertainment and began her career as director of public relations at Comedy Central, where she launched campaigns for series such as South Park, The Man Show and Win Ben Stein’s Money.
