For History’s Food That Built America, Brooklyn-based Small Giant built a diner in its studio to capture beauty shots of the food America loves.

Small Giant shot everything practically, using a camera with a robot suspended from a grid, and added the stop-motion animation by hand. Only a bit of VFX clean-up was required in post-production.

Food That Built America, including Buffalo wings, returns for season four on Sunday, February 19 on History at 9/8 c.
