Denise Huth, executive producer of The Walking Dead, makes her living hanging out with zombies.

She worked with Frank Darabont at Darkwood Productions from 2004 to 2011 to develop the concept that ultimately became a global TV hit. As an executive producer, she’s extremely hands on, spending her days on set in Georgia working with writers, directors and crew to get everything just right.

Now, as the series wraps up its ninth season, heads into season 10 and expands its post-apocalyptic world into another spin-off series as well as feature-length movies, Huth looks back at how The Walking Dead got its start as a graphic novel by Robert Kirkman and evolved into one of the most powerful content franchises in the world. The show airs on Sunday nights on AMC and on Monday night on Fox International Channels.

She subsequently worked on the Warner Bros. film The Majestic, the NBC television pilot Raines, and the special-edition DVD releases of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.

She began her career at Scott Free Productions, the film and television company of Ridley and Tony Scott, where she worked on such films as Where the Money Is, White Squall, G.I. Jane and Clay Pigeons.
