Los Angeles-based creative agency We Are Royale – more commonly referred to as WAR – is known for its game and e-sports marketing. Less well known, perhaps, is that it also produces campaigns for scripted audio content on Audible as well as for other audio-only offerings on such platforms as Spotify and Sonos.

On Audible, WAR has created campaigns for scripted audio series Sandman, vampire series Impact Winter and thriller Fishpriest, starring Ethan Hawke.

WAR’s Brien Holman joins the podcast to talk about how the agency got into creating campaigns for audio content, how they ideate those campaigns, and what kind of freedom they have when there’s no produced video to start with.

He also discusses how his agency is using artificial intelligence and what he thinks are the pros and cons of this rapidly evolving and sometimes controversial technology.
