Claiming that rival cable news networks “dismiss” viewers who don’t share the same point of view, Nexstar-owned cable news network, NewsNation, offers up its brand of news coverage as an alternative in the above spot.
The piece, which was created in collaboration with agency Jet Lag Behave, features many of the network’s on-air journalists, including Dan Abrams, Ashleigh Banfield, Adrienne Bankert, Nichole Berlie, Marni Hughes, Rudabeh Shahbazi and Leland Vittert. The talent stands on a black stage in front of the lit-up word “Dismissed.”
NewsNation was formerly cable superstation WGN America, but its format changed when Nexstar acquired WGN America and all of Tribune’s TV stations in 2019. NewsNation launched on March 1, 2021.
