Kirby Mazrachi (Elisabeth Moss) faces a constantly shifting reality in Apple TV Plus’ new series, Shining Girls, based on the best-selling novel by Lauren Beukes.

In the series, which is executive produced by Moss, Mazrachi is a put-upon newspaper archivist in Chicago whose life is turned upside-down after she suffers a brutal assault. Finding that her reality has splintered, Mazrachi teams up with veteran reporter Dan Velazquez (Wagner Moura) to try to find her attacker. They soon realize that a series of cold cases are linked to Mazrachi’s but her inability to hold tight to a single reality allows the perpetrator to constantly stay one step ahead of them.
