DreamWorks’ Jeffrey Katzenberg and Snoop Lion weren’t the big names pushed by Google and YouTube this week. On the heels of DreamWorks’ AwesomenessTV acquisition, Katzenberg spoke of YouTube’s potential to reach masses of consumers. Google’s Eric Schmidt pointed to YouTube as one of the media companies of the future. The rest of the presentation was full of YouTube stars like Felicia Day and Kid President, Snoop Lion even came out to entertain the crowds. Though not many specifics were offered, YouTube is betting on backers on the basis of big names and consistently popular channels.
