Let the pandemic series begin!

NBC will premiere Connecting this fall and now Netflix has Social Distance, debuting Oct. 15.

Social Distance is an eight-episode anthology series starring Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Oscar Nunez (The Office), Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black), Becky Ann Baker (Girls) and Dylan Baker (The Americans) and more.

Set in the early days of the pandemic, each episode is told through a virtual lens and focuses on capturing the experience of only being able to connect remotely and via technology.

It remains to be seen whether audiences will be drawn to watching shows created on Zoom and similar platforms, considering that many of them already spend so much of their time there as quarantine and work-from-home rules continue on.

Conceived, cast and executed entirely remotely during quarantine, Social Distance is created and executive produced by showrunner Hilary Weisman Graham and Tara Herrmann, Blake McCormick and Jenji Kohan. Diego Velasco serves as co-executive producer.
