Just ahead of the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, NBC showcased several of Team U.S.‘s highest-profile athletes in a series of Super Bowl spots: Nathan Chen, Chloe Kim, Mikaela Shiffrin, Lindsey Vonn and Shaun White.

Each athlete saw his or her story told, with a popular song playing in the background, starting with snowboarder Shaun White, set to Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man,” above.

Downhill skier Mikaela Shiffrin has always made it a point to be faster than the boys, as this spot, accompanied by Chuck Berry’s “Go Johnny Go,” demonstrates.

Like White, downhill skier Lindsey Vonn has seen her share of triumph and tragedy, having had to fight her way back from serious injury several times. Here, Vonn’s story is told with footage paced against Alicia Keys’ “This Girl Is on Fire.”

Figure skater Nathan Chen has “paid the cost to be da boss,” as Snoop Dogg sings.

And snowboarder Chloe Kim draws her support from her dedicated dad as this spot, accompanied by Ray Charles’ version of “America the Beautiful,” reveals.
