Kris Walter has been named head of production at content creation and production company Bodega.

Walter comes to Bodega from MTV Brand Creative, where he worked for about a decade producing award-winning, multi-platform campaigns for the network’s highly viewed events and series, including the VMAs and the MTV Movie Awards.

Walter has expertise across the production process, including digital, social and print. He started out as a producer at MTV Brand Creative before working his way up to executive producer, and earning honors for his work including Emmy, Webby, One Show, Beacon, Mark and PromaxBDA awards.

He has also taken the lead on celebrity-driven projects collaborating with Miley Cyrus, Amy Schumer, Will Ferrell, Usher, Bill Hader, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Maroon 5, Conan O’Brien, and more.

“Bodega’s forward-thinking all inclusive business model, taking on projects from ideation through production and post, addresses clients’ evolving production needs,” said Walter in a statement. “They’ve assembled a top creative team that can write, concept and bring more to the table beyond executing a traditional creative brief.”

Walter is a New Jersey native who majored in film studies at Rutgers University. He started in the industry as a P.A., then began freelancing for MTV Networks in 2003. The company brought him on shortly thereafter. He worked closely with in-house creatives and producers, as well as curating and supervising outside vendors on campaigns ranging from on-air promotions to social media and integrated assignments.

His work on the 2015 VMA campaign garnered more than 76 million viewers, and more than 122 billion impressions on Twitter.

“Kris’ creative, can-do attitude is contagious and exciting,” said Clint Goldman, executive producer and partner at Bodega. “He’s really a perfect fit for our clever production approach.”
