Luis Aguirre has joined New York-based production company Versus as creative director.

“Adding a creative director to the team is pivotal for our growth. Luis has a proven track record of achieving impact in artful ways,” said Rob Meyers, executive producer and partner at Versus, in a statement. “The Versus team has partnered with Luis on past projects such as Verizon’s award-winning launch of the iPhone 13, opening videos for Disney’s 2022 upfront, and the NFL’s league-wide in-stadium COVID-19 campaign—it’s a natural fit.”

“The market has changed a lot across the board. It’s an interesting time to influence design trends,” said Luis Aguirre, creative director, Versus, also in a statement. “I’m excited to push the envelope for clients. I want to go 100 mph and let them bring us back.”

Luis has spent the past 20 years blending his love of graphics with his various passions to create one-of-a-kind animation for his clients. His work spans a diverse client list that includes everyone from Nike to Verizon, the BBC to The United Nations, Facebook to Comedy Central, and more.

Luis cut his animation chops while working on animation for Hollywood Videos at Sockeye Creative. He spent eight years heading up the creative for Nice Soft T-Shirt, where he worked with both clients (Syfy, The New York Times, Mercedes Benz, EmblemHealth and the Vilcek Foundation) and agencies (Wieden & Kennedy, Merkle, Huge) to create both animation and live-action TV spots, movie and gaming trailers, social media videos, and more.
