The American West is now a different sort of wild, and Paramount Network will explore one family’s fight to preserve its way of life in new series Yellowstone, starring Oscar-winner Kevin Costner as John Dutton.

Dutton, now a grandfather, controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, which constantly faces land grabs from those on its borders: developers, an Indian reservation and the show’s namesake: America’s first national park.

And that’s not all that threatens the Duttons: oil and lumber corporations want to move in on their land, potentially poisoning their property, while developers want to build entire cities on the heretofore unspoiled terrain.

Besides Costner, the show stars Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly , Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Dave Annable, Danny Huston, Gil Birmingham, Josh Lucas, Jefferson White, Gretchen Mol , Jill Hennessy, Patrick St. Esprit, Ian Bohen, Heather Hemmons and Denim Richards.

Yellowstone is written and directed by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Taylor Sheridan, who wrote Wind River, Hell or High Water and Sicario.

Yellowstone premieres June 20 at 9/8c on Paramount Network.
