Kate Smith has returned to creative production studio Flavor as executive producer, said Flavor’s Managing Director Neal Cohen and Executive Creative Director Brian McCauley. Flavor, which is part of Cutter Studios, has offices in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, Kansas City, Tokyo and London.
For the past year, Smith worked as senior producer for Carbon, developing brand campaigns such as BBH New York’s “Black-Owned Friday” spot for Google. Before that, she had been a producer with Flavor since 2019. Before joining Flavor, she worked as a producer for creative agency Leviathan. Smith began her career with independent production studio Optimus, where she rose to the post of producer, design and VFX, working on commercials, TV series and feature films over the course of a decade.
“I am so excited to be back with my Flavor and Cutters Studios friends,” Smith said in a statement. “You can’t beat working on first class projects with the solid and supportive team they’ve cultivated. Seriously looking forward to diving back in!”
“Kate is very well-versed in every aspect of our production process: The knowledge she brings is only available to someone with her level of experience,” Cohen said. “She also knows so many people and has great relationships across a huge database. All of this makes her the ideal person to assess challenges, devise solutions and improve the results for us and our clients.”
Flavor and Cutter Studios also are looking for freelance designers, 2D/3D animators, VFX artists, compositors and Flame finishers.
