Vintage food expert Old Smokey and collector Josh Macuga eat the rarest, strangest and most iconic food in History’s new unscripted series, Eating History.
Each episode follows Macuga and Old Smokey as they “uncover, unbox and eat the oldest, most nostalgic, and shocking foods to have survived history.” Along the way, they’ll also discover vintage food collections and the fascinating stories behind those who collect them, revealing forgotten eras, cultures and people.
“When can you can eat something that’s 30, 40, 50, 60 years old, it’s the only way you can legitimately taste history,” Macuga says in the spot, which History released on Friday.
“In addition to watching Josh and Old Smokey literally take a bite out of the past to experience history firsthand, our viewers will be immersed in captivating historical takeaways, learning mind-blowing information about food and its personal connections to all of us,” Eli Lehrer, EVP and general manager at History, said in a statement.
Eating History premieres on History with two back-back-episodes on March 11 at 10 p.m.
