Things may have taken a turn for the worst in Joe’s last relationship, but the cyber-stalking killer (Penn Badgley) is back and ready for a fresh start.

That’s the premise of You season two, which sees the former New York resident moving to Los Angeles with a brand new identity: Will Bettelheim.

There, he’ll meet his new subject of desire—aptly named Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti)—who he quickly falls for. But old habits die hard as he tries to prevent a familiar outcome while his ex-girlfriend Candace (Ambyr Childers) looms over him.

Netflix released the season two trailer on Monday, which previews the potentially ill-fated love story and Joe’s efforts to be a new man.

“It’s hard to have a fresh start when the past is on your mind,” he says in the spot.

Season two also stars Robin Lord Taylor (Gotham), Adwin Brown (Heathers), Chris D’Elia (Workaholics), James Scully (Heathers), Jenna Ortega (Jane the Virgin) and Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll).

Joe meets his match when You season two premieres Dec. 26 on Netflix.
