Paramount Network debuted the official trailer for documentary series Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, that traces the birth of the Black Lives Matter movement back to the unarmed 17-year-old’s death.

Martin was shot on February 26, 2012, by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman, who claimed self defense. He was charged for second-degree murder and manslaughter but ultimately acquitted, which led to protests across the country.

From executive producer Shawn Carter and Jay-Z, the six-part series features interviews from the teen’s parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, as it explores the moment in history.

“It took my son being shot down to make me stand up,” his mother, Fulton, says in the trailer.

Carmelo Anthony, Angela Davis and Reverend Al Sharpton are also featured.

Jay-Z promoted the series on his upcoming joint album with Beyoncé, “The Black Effect,” while also referencing his previous documentary about the suicide of Kalief Browder, 22, on Riker’s Island.

“Since the Kalief doc, they’ve been at my neck/ Y’all can tell ‘em Trayvon is comin’ next,” he raps.

Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story premiers July 30 at 10 p.m. on Paramount Network.
