Comedian and former Tonight Show host Jay Leno survived riding in a 2,500 horsepower car called the Hemi Under Glass, and checked it off his bucket list.

But not without a close call.

He stepped into the vehicle with stunt driver and one of his icons Bob Riggle in the driver’s seat as they went up on two wheels, flipped over, and landed upright at a speedway near Los Angeles. Cameras in the car captured the action.

“Dammit, you all right?” Riggle asked Leno.

Leno cracked a joke as emergency personnel rushed over.

The five-minute promo is for season two of Jay Leno’s Garage, which premieres June 29 at 10 p.m. on CNBC.

Eight hour-long episodes will cover all things automotive, including classic cars, super cars, restoration projects, road tests, investments and the inner workings of the car collectors’ market.
