FYI is ordering two new series as its recent rebrand into a lifestyle-focused channel delivered strong ratings among younger viewers in its first quarter on air.

The positive trajectory after the rebrand means parent company A+E Networks is diving even further into the lifestyle pool, while hoping to move away from the heavily-produced reality series that have defined that genre in recent memory in cable.

Late Nite Chef Fight—debuting Nov. 22—features celebrity chefs battling head-to-head in food trucks. Laila Ali and Vic Moea have been tapped to host the eight-episode series. FYI chief Jana Bennett told The Hollywood Reporter that the series was inspired by actual chef-driven food truck battles that happen late at night in Las Vegas.

My City’s Just Not That Into Me is a partnership with the successful real estate blog Curbed, and focuses on twenty- and thirty-somethings who are picking up and moving to a new city. Ten half-hour episodes are planned.

FYI’s rebrand helped it improve its ratings among young viewers by 25 percent over its former identity—BIO—in the first quarter it was on the air.

“We’ve been able to have a different sort of voice,” Bennett told The Hollywood Reporter.

That voice includes having producers back off a bit when filming their new unscripted offerings. Bennett told the magazine that their aim is to offer viewers more of a true to life documentary series experience.
