As CBBC — the BBC’s channel for kids aged 6-12, evolves for the digital, mobile and on-demand world — it needed its brand to evolve with it. That was the challenge Red Bee Creative took on.

To accomplish that, Red Bee designed a colorful new logo for the channel.

“This boldness of design ensures it works powerfully and responsively in a multi-screen world. A cohesive flowing motion used throughout the brand reflects the way our audience consumes information in the digital landscape,” said Red Bee.

Red Bee also worked with sonic branding firm Brains&Hunch to create a distinctive new sonic signature for the channel.

“The kids watching CBBC the last time we refreshed the channel identity will have left university by now,” said Charlotte Lock, BBC director of marketing and audience, media and north: A lot has changed in the past decade, not least the way today’s kids want to consume CBBC content. They want more control over how, where and when they watch, listen and interact and we needed a brand with the versatility to respond to that.”
