A reboot of cult ‘80s movie Heathers is one of the rebranded Paramount Network’s first new series.
In the new version, Heather Chandler (Melanie Field) is an unconventional clique leader, ruling Westerburg High through fear, intimidation and amazing fashion sense. Heather Duke (Brendan Scannell) is Heather C’s sidekick and secret weapon, harnessing her power to “destroy whoever he views as a total discount hobgoblin,” according to Paramount. And Heather McNamara (Jasmine Mathews) is considered the nicest Heather, but the one with the least power.
Good girl Veronica Sawyer (Grace Veronica Cox) is just going along to get along with the clique until she meets bad boy JD Dean (James Scully) and bad things start to happen.
Original Heathers cast member Shannen Doherty (90210, Charmed), who played Heather Duke in the movie, guest stars in several episodes, along with Selma Blair (Anger Management) and Casey Wilson (Happy Endings).
Heathers premieres on Paramount Network on Wednesday, March 7, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
