What does it mean to be a part of Grey’s Anatomy: B-Team?

“If it’s in a bedpan, you clean it. If it’s in a barf bag, you clean it. If it’s blood, you clean it.”

Yes, the interns at Grey Sloan Memorial are getting their own show, available now on ABC.com and the ABC app.

Produced by ABC Studios and Shondaland, Sarah Drew makes her directorial debut with the six-episode web series that follows the latest batch of newbie doctors introduced in season 14 of Grey’s Anatomy. It focuses on the six interns’ first day as surgeons, forced to tackle the pressures of high-stakes medicine and difficult patients under the watchful and stern eye of Chief Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson).

Grey’s Anatomy: B-Team stars Sophia Taylor Ali as Dahlia Qadri; Jake Borelli as Levi Schmitt; Alex Blue Davis as Casey Parker; Jaicy Elliot as Taryn Helm; Rushi Kota as Vik Roy and Jeanine Mason as Samantha “Sam” Bello.

The series, written by Barbara Kaye Friend, also features appearances by Grey’s regulars Justin Chambers Kelly McCreary, Kevin McKidd and James Pickens Jr.

Grey’s Anatomy was created and is executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, with Betsy Beers, Mark Gordon, Krista Vernoff, William Harper, Zoanne Clack, Debbie Allen and Fred Einesman as executive producers.

ABC is also planning a yet-untitled Grey’s Anatomy spinoff of that follows Jason George’s character Ben Warren as he joins a group of heroic firefighters at Seattle Fire Station.

Stacy McKee, executive producer of the spinoff told reporters at the Television Critic Association Winter Press Tour that it will be similar to Grey’s “in tone and humor and heart” with the addition of more adrenaline-driven action sequences. Like Grey’s, it will also pull inspiration from real life events.
