The Golden Globes are anticipating another good year, as the awards show will again be co-hosted by comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. But this time, NBC is also making deals to send the Globes around the world.
Produced by Dick Clark Productions with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Golden Globes will also air on Canal+ in France, E! in the U.K., Denmark’s TV2, Viacom 18 Media in India, China’s CCTV Movie Channel, AXN in Japan and the Turner Network in Latin America. Alfred Haber Distribution says the awards show will air in more than 160 territories.
NBC started airing promos for the awards show already, once again relying on its hosts’ comedic strengths. The :30 spot first aired during last week’s “Sound of Music Live!”
The 71st Golden Globes will air live on NBC on Jan. 12, 2014.

Brief Take: NBC is taking advantage of the Golden Globes Awards show’s growing popularity, especially with its co-hosts. Its lead-in campaign for the now-global show will be longer and probably more involved as the telecast expands internationally.
