Gina Oliva-Pinto has been promoted to vice president of marketing for NBCUniversal Local. In this role, she will continue to serve as in-house marketing expert for the division’s local businesses and to lead creative marketing efforts as the NBC and Telemundo local TV stations continue to expand their multiplatform content. Oliva-Pinto reports to Therese Gamba, chief marketing officer and executive vice president of acquired programming, NBC Universal Local.

“Gina is a creative marketer and an invaluable partner to our marketing colleagues across our division and NBCUniversal,” said Gamba in a statement. “As our local businesses continue to grow through new platforms, Gina will continue to be the steady hand that will drive strategy to help all of our local businesses connect with new audiences and consumers.”

Oliva-Pinto has been leading marketing and promotion campaigns to help local and national broadcasters reach English- and Spanish-language audiences for more than 20 years. She joined the NBCUniversal Local division in 2017 from Disney’s WABC New York where she worked as a marketing producer.

Over the past four years, she has served as an in-house marketing counsel to NBC/Telemundo owned stations’ creative services directors and led marketing efforts for key division-wide community initiatives, including Project Innovation and Clear The Shelters. She is now spearheading the station group’s newest effort, the PAWSitively Good Awards.

Before joining WABC, Oliva-Pinto was part of Warner Bros. TV Distribution’s affiliate marketing team supporting syndicated talk shows Anderson Live, starring Anderson Cooper, and Bethenny, starring Bethenny Frankel.

Prior to that, she worked at Fox’s WWOR New York and CBS’ WFOR Miami in promotion. She began her career at CBS’ WBFS Miami as a promo coordinator.
