Fox will premiere its new comedy, The Mick, starring It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Kaitlin Olson, on Sunday, Jan. 1, following the network’s NFL double-header. The series will then make its regular time period debut on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 8: 30 p.m.
In The Mick, Mackenzie, aka Mickey, is a hustler who’s forced to assume guardianship of her sister’s very high maintenance, very rich children after her sister and her brother-in-law are thrown in jail. Mickey’s not that good at guardianship, but at least she’s trying.
The Mick also stars Sofia Black D’Elia, Thomas Barbusca, Jack Stanton, Carla Jimenez and Scott MacArthur.
The series comes from the creators of FX’s long-running It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: brothers John and David Chernin. Executive producers are the Chernins as well as Nick Frankel, Only Obst and Randall Einhorn, who directed the pilot. Series star Olson is a co-executive producer.
