​Entering into the competition for TV data, Facebook has decided to go up against Twitter and send TV networks weekly data reports on their brands and series.

ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox will begin receiving weekly reports based on the Facebook conversations surrounding their shows. The data will include how many comments, likes and shared posts each show gets on Facebook.

Facebook, because it has more users, is promoting its data reports to be more accurate than Twitter’s and therefore even more useful.

Brief Take: By showing networks how many interactions shows get on Facebook, the social network might be able to entice TV networks to its side while it also gains traction in the battle for TV with Twitter’s recent Amplify deals.
