At the 2013 Station Summit on Thursday, Cory Bergman presented the session, “Tales from the Lost Remote: How TV Stations Can Capitalize on Mobile and Social TV,” a rapid-fire blend of statistics, predictions and best practices for how local stations can better reach new audiences and capture new demand.

The GM of Breaking News, a mobile-first startup within NBC News Digital, Bergman spoke with Brief about the mobile-first mentality and how local stations need to better design their apps and other content to be found in the mobile space. “It’s switching around our thinking so that everything is mobile,” he says in the clip above, “almost to the point of dismissing the desktop.”
