On July 30, Discovery surfaces the latest reality-competition format as nine diverse contestants set sail on the Acali II for twenty-one days to seek their fortunes. To succeed, they must work together as a team but they are constantly challenged with physical and intellectual tasks specifically designed to disrupt and divide them.

At the end of each episode, the crew is given the option to stay together or swap a crew member out for someone new.

The series was inspired by Mexican anthropologist Santiago Genovés’ 1973 behavioral study designed to observe whether people from diverse cultures and backgrounds could put aside their differences and work together. That original social experiment took place over 101 days on the Acali.

The nine-episode series is hosted by Green Beret, NFL player and actor Nate Boyer and was produced for Discovery near Panama’s Pearl Islands by Critical Content.
