Dana Bonomo has been named managing director and executive producer at Miami- and New York City-based Lava Studio. The move reunites Bonomo with Lava President Robert Kirkpatrick, who worked together early in their careers.

“Robert and I have known each other for years. I’m thrilled the planets finally aligned and we’re able to work together again. We’re strategizing on the business and exploring where we can take Lava next,” said Bonomo in a statement.

“I loved watching Dana’s success as Managing Director at PMCD Design, a company that all young designers looked up to,” said Kirkpatrick, also in a statement, “and she followed that success with a string of high-profile leadership roles in broadcast, entertainment, commercials and corporate content.”

Adds Lava’s Creative Director/Live Action David Woodward: “Dana’s knowledge and experience bring Lava’s leadership team to a whole new level. I’m excited to have her forward-thinking skill set for expanding our future.”

Bonomo has already led Lava’s team on several prominent projects for CBS, MLB Network, Columbia Sportswear and Ritz-Carlton.

Most recently, Bonomo was executive producer and managing director US at global content studio Edisen. Past stints include production manager at NBCUniversal, head of production at not-for-profit startup Bystander Revolution, and experiential director for events such as Oprah’s Life You Want and Coca-Cola World Games.

Lava designs and produces original animation, visual effects and live production for entertainment, brands, and sports.
