With social distancing in full effect, prompting hundreds of millions of people to hunker down at home, Crown Media is offering comfort, entertainment and a sense of community and connectedness, the company announced on Thursday.

Hallmark Movies Now, the company’s streaming platform that offers hundreds of hours of feel-good original series and movies, is offering new users a free 30-day trial. The move falls in line with other networks such as Showtime, UPtv and AMC Networks’ Shudder, which have opened access to their content as viewers turn to TV in their newly found free time.

Hallmark Channel, which is well-known for its wholesome Christmas content, is tapping back into the holidays after running its “We Need a Little Christmas” marathon last weekend. The network is re-upping the stunt on Friday, March 27 to Sunday, March 29 with a full lineup of original movies and series. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries also is kicking off a weekend holiday event, “Miracles of Christmas” movie marathon, beginning March 27.

Hallmark Publishing, which produces eBooks, audiobooks, and paperbacks, is offering a free eBook version of “A Country Wedding” as well as a virtual book club about the novel on Facebook. Seven other titles, including “Love by Chance,” “Country Hearts” and “The Story of Us,” will be available for $0.99 during a special eBook sale as well.
