Last year’s Teen Wolf booth was insanely popular with the millennial crowd. MTV knows its strengths and is sticking to them this time around, adding a similar photo booth as Teen Wolf’s but switching themes from high school supernatural to high school horror.
This year’s lineup adds Scream: The TV Series and The Shannara Chronicles, coming together with Teen Wolf to create a MTV-branded booth for the first time. (Last year’s booth was Teen Wolf-only.)

Scream, which premiered June 30, launched a slo-mo video booth as the focus of MTV’s presence on the convention center floor. Attendees enter the booth to experience (and perhaps commit) bloody deaths played out onscreen in terrifying slow motion.
They have a choice of weapon, then, standing in front of the masked killer himself, kill a victim offscreen as fake blood (or for the truly faint of heart, red confetti) gets spattered on them. The end result is an immensely shareable (albeit messy) video.

The booths brings the show to the fans on the floor to add exposure to the new Scream, but it also manages to introduce the new masked killer as well, trying to pay homage while separating itself from the famous mask in the movies.

Appearing at Comic-Con for the sixth time, Teen Wolf gets a Ballroom 20 panel this year, with special appearances by its stars throughout the weekend.
Teen Wolf’s Tyler Posey and Scream’s Bella Thorne also host the second annual MTV Fandom Awards as part of the network’s Fandom Fest in Petco Park on Thursday. The Fandom Awards honor fans that have celebrated characters and series across MTV and other platforms.
Categories range across a wide variety of the year in fandom, including Social Superstar of the Year, Best Revival Fandom of the Year, “Ship” of the Year and Feels Freak Out of the Year. A broadcast of the event is airing Friday, July 12 on MTV.
The post-apocalyptic Shannara Chronicles reveals its first-look trailer to panel-goers Friday, unveiling the magical world brought to TV. MTV also gave out exclusive Comic-Con editions of The Elfstones of Shannara book, the origin of MTV’s upcoming series.
