CBS owned station WBBM Chicago was challenged this year to produce a PSA for the Diabetes Expo—with no budget.

“​Diabetes: The Truth In 17 Seconds,” nominated this year for a Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award, starred the station’s sports anchor Ryan Baker in a spoken word performance.

The spot set out to spread word about the Diabetes Risk Assessment test, and it resulted in a 10 percent increase of people taking the test in the state of Illinois. The PSA also caused a marked increase in the Diabetes Expo in Chicago this year.
