CBS Sports won the right Wednesday to broadcast eight early season NFL games in 2014, league officials and the network announced Wednesday.

NFL Network will also simulcast those early season games, while gaining the exclusive rights to air and additional eight late-season games in 2014, two of which will be on Satudays.

“We are very pleased to build on our outstanding partnership with the NFL by expanding our coverage to Thursday nights,” said CBS Corp. CEO Les Moonves. “CBS is a premium content company and the NFL represents the best premium content there is.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
