Cartoon Network brought on Chuck E. Cheese as the first sponsor for its Stop Bullying: Speak Up campaign that encourages kids to sign a petition against the behavior.
The multi-platform campaign, now in it’s seventh year, runs through October to coincide with National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.
“As we partner with Cartoon Network on this year’s Stop Bullying: Speak Up program, Chuck E. Cheese’s is in a unique position as a friendly place for fun where we can also deliver educational and empowering messages to help kids recognize and prevent bullying,” Michael Hartman, chief marketing officer of Chuck E. Cheese parent company CEC Entertainment, said in a statement.
For the partnership, Cartoon Network produced a co-branded video that aims to inspire kids to visit ChuckECheese.com/StopBullying and take the pledge. Once completed, they’ll be able to print out a certificate to redeem for Chuck E. Cheese prizes.
Locations will also promote the campaign with in-store messages, and promos will run across select Cartoon Network mobile app games, along with social posts on the Stop Bullying: Speak Up Facebook page.
“Stop Bullying: Speak Up continues to be an important platform for Cartoon Network that has led to tremendous progress in helping kids develop stronger friendships and providing parents and educators with the resources to advance this effort,” Serge Masyra, senior vice president of Ignite Content Partnerships, Turner Emerging Consumers Group, said in a statement. “Chuck E. Cheese’s thoughtful, multi-platform partnership enables the brand to join the pro-social conversation in a meaningful way, while rewarding kids for taking the initiative to help prevent bullying.”
