Showtime offers up a glimpse of Carrie Mathison as she hits New York in a dramatic first trailer for the upcoming sixth season of Homeland debuting January 15.
The CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes), now back from Berlin and living in New York, has begun working for a foundation providing aid to Muslims living in the United States.
The new season is being filmed in New York, and it will pick up a matter of months after the season-five climax, comprising the days between the election and the new president’s inauguration.
According to Showtime, “It’s a strange, transitional time in the halls of government filled with anxiety and different competing interests, where a very fragile and complex transfer of power takes place between the outgoing president and the incoming president-elect.”
The teaser trailer’s soundtrack is a stripped-down cover of Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight” by Tamer.
Homeland also stars Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend, F. Murray Abraham and Elizabeth Marvel. Guest stars include Hill Harper, Robert Knepper, Patrick Sabongui and Dominic Fumusa.
