Bret Havey has been promoted to senior vice president, brand creative director for Turner’s TBS & TNT. Havey will oversee all on-air promotions and creative initiatives for both networks, with a focus on bringing a premium multiplatform brand experience.
Havey will also work intimately with colleagues across the two networks to ensure consistent and contextually relevant brand positioning. Havey is based in Atlanta, Ga., and reports to Michael Engleman, executive vice president of entertainment marketing and brand innovation.
“Over the past year, Bret has been instrumental in bringing TBS’s brand evolution to life through the network’s unique look and on-air creative,” said Engleman in a statement. “As both TBS and TNT continue to evolve, he will play a key role in keeping our multiplatform brands fresh and relevant through innovative, forward-thinking creative.”
Havey, who joined Turner in 2005, most recently served as vice president, creative director for TBS, leading the overall creative look and voice for the network. Prior to being named to that position in 2008. In his role, he produced on-air promos and other promotional elements for TBS, including the creative that paved the way for Conan O’Brien to join the network.
Havey came to TBS from ABC Family, where he also served as vice president, creative director. He previously worked as a creative consultant on projects for various cable networks, including TBS, TNT, CNN, HBO, USA, Disney Channel, Oxygen, G4 and Discovery. Havey also served as a writer/producer of promotional materials for ABC and VH1. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
